I'm currently making a Claymore for my Clare cosplay. I've made the blade out of Cardboard and paper mache but my problem is the hilt. I have a dol as the handle but the guard is my problem. I don't have enough experiance with wood to carve it so I need a different material to make this out of. I also tried foam but it wasn't duriable and broke easily. Any help is apreciated. |

haha I love making weapons but I'm just stuck on how to straighten my sword out. Grr and the hilt is starting to slip in from the mass of the blade!
(btw if you are cosplaying Grimmjow I will love you forever!!! <3 Best Espada ever!!!)

hmmm i see its news paper for the outter look, but what are you useing for the suport and does it go the lenght of the hole sword?

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I've been out of town. -_- This is basically what I did: i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg60/Jessienuchiha/claymoressword-1.jpg However the inside of my sword isn't just a dol its accually a smaller claymore (that the dol goes the ful length of) that I originally made with this method but was too small. That might sound confusing so in other words its a sword over a sword. Both being supported by the same dol but the larger exterior Card board frame doesn't have a support running throughout the whole length. The weight of the paper mache isn't helping that either most likely. Sorry if thats really confuseing. xD |

Well im being Link Kirby and I am just going to make a card board one ether that or buy a broom and spray paint it siver and make the Big Goron sword.
