Um, well, not to be, ah, rude, but...
...what does Twilight have to do with anime?
I know there were pseudo-manga illustrations, but they're not even available in the United States.

I do have to agree that an anime convention is really not the place for a Twilight panel. We can't even get any reasonable degrees of relation between Twilight and any facet of Japanese culture.
Save it for a more appropriate place.

As much as I loved parts of Meyer's quartet (and by 'parts' I mean 'Edward') from the surface I can't see a generic Twilight panel being appropriate at an anime convention. =/
However, I've seen other things being linked to anime & Japanese culture before, so it's not a terrible stretch - just use your imagination!

Although if we're looking for *any* link, I'm sure we can play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. I believe that Robert Pattinson (Edward) has a Bacon number of 2.
Robert Pattinson was in Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire with Miriam Margolyes. Miriam Margolyes voiced Balto with Kevin Bacon.
His separation seems to be equal with an American voice actor.
Robert Pattinson was in Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire with Jason Issacs. Jason Issac voiced Avatar: The Last Airbender with Zach Tyler. (Zach Tyler also voiced in Doraemon: Nobita to midori no kyojinden)

I'd say if you have to go more than two degrees to relate your panel to Japanese culture, it really has no business at an anime convention. IE: Western cultures influence on anime is two degrees off.
Somebody will now come along with a topic that is three degrees off and appropriate just to spite me, but you get the idea. ^_^;

I'd say idc...I don't hate or like Twilight....but you'd get a lot of people bashing it....tbh I've seen that about %80 of anime fans can't stand Twilight...idk exactly why though...
So I think it's safe to say that not many people would be interested, sorry.

Loads of Edward fangirls might (correction WILL) be interested, but this is an ANIME convention. And if we use the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, then technically, I can also have a David Bowie panel. (XD DAVID!!)

Why have a Twilight panel at an ANIME convention? Twilight is more SciFi.

I'm a fan of the book. But it just doesn't belong to Anime Convention. Plus alot of guys would bash it. Think about it. In twilight Vampires Sparkle. What happens in all other vampire manga/anime/stories. Alot of people i know can stand the sparkle.

My frined hates the sparkly thing, it doesn't really bother me. I like first Twilight book. The second one was kinda depressing, the third was okay, and then I did like the fourth. I agree with rinnocent, it would get bashed a lot. A thread about it though shouldn't be a problem.
