So were wizards merchants? Cause I've always heard that long pointy hats belonged to wizards.

I think everyone is getting too upset over a topic. It's his choice and others choices what they wear to a Ren. Fair OR the Japanese festival, and it's no one elses right to say what they should be allowed to wear. I mean, you don't tell someone it's wrong if htey go in NORMAL clothing, but not Cosplay?

Yeah, I Know. I just wanted to state my opinion that I don't think anyone should really be the judge of what you should wear, since it is a public event. People who go, such as Link, know there may be a few nay-sayers but overall they usually accept that. I just think that unless it STRICTLY states that you should ONLY go in a certain attire (such as Lolita gatherings and parties, or certain theme only events) it doesn't matter what someone wears to an event.
I wore a chinese dress to the Japanese Festival, though I got about two or three comments, they were very nice to me about it and usually just joked with me. I'm just saying cuase th Ren.Fair is a public event where you purhcase the tickets, you aren't required to a certain dress code.

Dude, settle down. Breathe. I wasn't trying to offend you or anything. I've never even been to the Ren Faire, so I didn't know. From what I read about it, they are going for historical accuracy, and that's all I was basing it on. Maybe it's just the official organizers who are being historically accurate. Feel free to dress as Link if that's how it's done at these things.
Though technically, since you seem to want to argue, Link being of medieval style doesn't fit at the Renaissance faire anyway, as medieval times (the Middle Ages) were a different period than the Renaissance, overlapping only slightly, as one gave way to the next, though this faire's scenario takes place the century after the Middle Ages were over.
That being said, if you want to dress like Link, and you've done it before and it worked out, then great, do it, I encourage that kind of thing. I wasn't trying to start an argument. I simply didn't know how these things worked.

Most Ren Fairs don't actually go for historical accuracy, just an FYI.

Pick it apart? Feel free. I'm solid. I already essentially told you I wasn't privy to how it all works, and if you've done it before, you know better than I do, so more power to you. Same to you Newcastle. I don't know any better. I've never been to one, so how would I know how they run these things? I was just going from what I read on their website. I wasn't trying to start a fight.
That being said, if I see you there, I will say hi and be friendly, because that's just how I roll. You have a good costume, and I just wasn't sure how it'd be accepted as an outsider not knowing any better.

^_^ YAY!!! Rin *hugs*
Mushroom: well not really Knights were still around the only thing different was the clothing style changed slitly. Yes it is a different perides, but as was said before they are very close together.
Now let me say this before anymore people say this is NOT a good idea if you go to the summer time meet up in cosplay then you have no room to talk here. If you have went to the Jap fest in cosplay you have no room to talk here. This is a fair of Midevil style things reason being... 1.) there are Knights 2.) there are fairys/Pixies 3.) there are Elves. With that said my idea fits this event better than some peoples ideas for the other events. Again I understand that this is not for video games... but i'm not going as Link to suport gaming its just the style of his cloths. So if any more of you people have any other problems with this the speek... I'm used to people out numbering me, and shooting my ideas down.
