Hey, everyone. I'm new here, but not new to anime cons. I went to college up in Chicago, and I've been to Acen a few times. I moved back here around April. I'm also part of the main Ninja Taisen/Clash of Ninja gaming community. Some of my favorite anime/manga are:
Metropolis
Perfect Blue
Princess Mononoke
Hellsing
Hajime no Ippo
Millenium Princess
Tokyo Godfathers
Ghost in the Shell (and SAC series)
Ninja Scroll
Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann
Berserk
I'm an artist, and I'll put up a link to some of my work in my sig. I've also been trying to start up an anime jazz band in the Acen forums, but haven't had much luck. I'm an alto sax player of 10+ years.

Anime jazz? That sounds really cool. My brother plays tenor and he's really into jazz... Unfortunately, we live 4 hours away from St. Louis. But I'm sure he'd like to meet you if/when we come up for a con. His character is known for playing saxophone, so maybe I can convince him to bring his.

I surprised Cowboy Bebop isn't on that list. Its the only anime I know of that has a Jazz opening. And I think Jazz is the main theme of the sound tract.

I only listed some of the stuff off the top of my head. Cowboy Bebop is, of course, a favorite. Gunsmith Cats, Hellsing, and Lupin III also have jazz openings. I actually have sheet music for all three anime.

Really? That's sad. Maybe it's because the second Hellsing series got cancelled. It seems that people don't like good things to get cancelled.

Really? That's sad. Maybe it's because the second Hellsing series got cancelled. It seems that people don't like good things to get cancelled.

Yeah! They are on 6 right now. I just recently watched it with my boyfriend. They are so good right now!

My uncle was in a traveling jazz band for years and hes the one who got me into anime, he was on sax. Dont know if he still can play but im trying to get him to go to this years con to split the hotel bill

I play alto saxophone also, but for only 6 years, so I'm probably not as good as you. I play piano and keyboard also though, and I would be extremely interested in some sort of jazz band/any sort of band for a convention. And we share similar taste in anime  |
