Live Action/3D Yu-Gi-Oh! GX short film

Well, my final months of school are rolling around the corner and I'm wanting to do something amazing for a portfolio piece. I've mentioned before in another post that I was planning on doing this but now it's being put into motion.

I'm going to be looking for anyone that could look the part (somewhat) and can get a good feel of the character's personality for the list of characters from the series.

The most important two being Judai/Ryo. Then the rest of the minor characters.

I do have a place set up for doing the green screening of characters to impose them into the 3D scene of the Duel Arena inside Duel Academy. It's a small film and photography studio that a friend of mine works at, and I have permission to shoot any film needed for this project as long as it's on a Saturday or Sunday when they do not have any work.

As far as costumes needed, I can't offer any assistance on supplying due to monetary issues, I barely got mine done while supporting myself getting to and from school and food.

What I would like to see happen is that it's possible to make a good Live-Action version of anime series without having to compromise storyline to try to get more people to watch. (I make reference to stuff like Dragonball Evolution, or many Video Game to Film movies.) Plus if it works out, it's something I'd like to bring to ASTL 10' for everyone to see.

So, any volunteers or critique to the idea, I would be grateful.

(Edit: I'm currently in class running the idea by my instructor, and if approved, this will happen in the next 3 months, 6 months if it takes longer to finish up.)

wow...I love this idea man...I am in if you need any help for this since I never work on sundays that is and I know where I can get the cards for the characters too. As for what GX character I can do I am not sure because I've yet to cosplay from there but I know a few Judai's and an Fubuki...maybe a Manjoume too. So let me look around and get back to you on this one then.

You = win, sir. Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm gonna make copys of the card designs on the show, becuase I don't want anyones cards getting damaged by "throwing" them onto the duel disks. XD

thats a smart idea sir. I talked with the Fubuki that I know and sounds like he is in for it...I know some of the others so let me check with them next week and I will get back...but it sounds like a good deal man.

Currently working on a presentation for Saturday morning. Low poly Cyber Dragon and Dueling Arena almost done. Working on the script. And I have someone to make the cards after I get the templates for them done. Possibly got some more people for 3D modeling and animating, checking on that this weekend. And I'll keep a list of of everyone interested in which character(s) they would like to play on the first post from here on out.

No holiday break for me this year, lol. Just an extra 2 weeks to get stuff done.

I'm very interested in the idea of a LoZ movie, I've just been caught up with school. After this is over and done with I'll certainly join you in setting something up if you would like some help.

That's okay, man. I'd probably feel the same way in your postition, so, hit me up after the 6th of march (my last day of the quarter), and we'll get your movie idea rolling.

As for the filming I'll be talking to my friend about setting up a day for filming (which will be during the weekends at least, just need to set which day), and any extra days if anyone can't make the first date of filming. I should have the script done in the next day or two. It's gonna have dialogue from the japanese version, but I'm keeping some of the elements from US version. Mainly the names and the card designs.

If you were doing this for 2011, I'd say I'd be your Daichi, but I'm not gonna have him done in time for this, unfortunately. The only parts of the cosplay I've got right now is the shirt and the wig (although the wig has to be restyled a bit for Daichi). I've also got a White Magician Pikeru on the way. XD

Sorry for not keeping this updated but I've been fighting off a sinus problems for the past two weeks.

Here's the project as it stands:

Due to the time constraints I'm gonna have to shorten this down to 5-7 minutes, so it's gonna have to be finished after I'm done with school. And as for characters, all I need at the moment is a Judai, and after words if I can get these projects rolling, I'll go back and edit in all the secondary characters' lines into the episode.

Oh man, I always wanted to cosplay a character from Yugioh, though sadly I seem to only be able to do Marik, everyone elses costumes are too hard for me almost. xD

I'll be talking to my friend today about recording, and if we're good to shoot anytime past today, can be done any weekend between next weekend and the 14th of Feb. which is a sunday. And that'll give about 4 different chances to shoot, I'm gonna try and get any Zane-only scenes done as soon as possible since this is project is going to have alot of editing done.

I almost forgot to ask, do you have any pictures of your friend in their Jaden cosplay?
