A little late to the game, but I think this is a fantastic idea, seeing as I am the king of the (almost) Never Used. I'd like to see a tourney better constructed than my local ones, which permit players to use CLEARLY hacked Pokemon (Darkrai using Draco Meteor, etc.)
You should probably elaborate who is exactly in what tier though, so that people can have their teams ready in advance. Nothing sucks worse than putting a team together at the last second.

Well. I never expected this thread to be anything official, just something casual... but if we're getting some good reception, looks like I'll have to pull a tournament signup sheet out and what not!... (and train my team for then... x3; I do agree, though. No hacked Pokemon ): <

Mmm... o-o
Does anyone have PBR? I have it but I'm not sure if I should bring my Wii in.
PBR would be better for a tourney because we can use Level Set. |D;
Maybe I should've thought about this more... ~_~;;

Any downtime we have. This isn't really an official event, so.. xD I wasn't really organizing anything large... XDD;... honestly wasn't...
XD Well. As I've said, DPPtHGSS with a PBR connect thing, maybe.

I'll talk to the staff about making this official...seeing as myself and Silfer (another security guy) will both participate. Most likely, this will be a late night thing. If you're interested in doing this at all, I need to know. Numbers = easier access to time.

Is there actually gonna be something happening? I need to decide whether to actually get on making a good team.

I'd say yes. Plan on making a good team. I also plan on this being a chance to do some trading (for those with SS and HG that need to complete the 'Dex) and so forth. Like I said, this is pretty impromptu, but I'll have more information in the next day or so.
Thanks, The Security Guy

Also, this will be a no hacks tournament, singles. Level cap is up to you guys. NU, UU, BL, OU all allowed.
One Uber per team. That list is as follows:
Arceus, Darkrai, Deoxys (All forms), Dialga, Garchomp, Giratina (both forms), Groudon, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Latios, Lugia, Manaphy, Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Shyamin, Wobbuffet, Wynaut.
Beings the official VGC's are allowing certain ubers onto the field this year, I figured I'd mix it up and let ALL ubers onto the field. Only one, though.
I may withdraw myself from the competition and have prizes for beating me at certain points throughout the weekend. I'll see about arranging for a prize of some sort.
More information soon! - The Security Guy

We could swing two tournaments if there are enough people, I assume.

Since when is Garchomp an Uber? And if Garchomp is on there, why not Salmance? I see a lot of them in the standard, usually one or the other unless the person is particularly bold or stupid. And if they're going to be counted as ubers, does that bump Dragonite and Flygon up to Standard?

Since when is Garchomp an Uber? A long time. Like a year now.
And if Garchomp is on there, why not Salmance? I see a lot of them in the standard, usually one or the other unless the person is particularly bold or stupid. So tier lists should be determined by how many people use them? Garchomp has higher base attack and speed and a better movepool than Salamence. Mence also can't swords dance and is weak to stealth rock.
And if they're going to be counted as ubers, does that bump Dragonite and Flygon up to Standard?
Lord no. What kind of logic is that?
