I liked having badges that distinguished minors and adults. It was convienent to know at a glance what you were dealing with and what you should and shouldn't say. Perhaps you should try treating everybody equally. [/snark]

Yeah, I agree with the color badges.... It's easy to tell who to not even think about hitting on. My friend met a girl that was 16... he is 20... and he never saw he badge, and once he did, he was outta there. lol But I just like it cus I can stick close to my own age group.

As far as the convention center goes I overall thought it was good but if there was more room needed a suggestion I would have, take it or not I just wanted to suggest it, is if it was affordable enough the Millennium downtown that they had Kunicon at a while back was huge and had plenty of room to move around and whatnot. I just wanted to suggest it because I'm not sure how much more this hotel can hold with the amount of growth this convention has had over the past few years.

Yeah, with the turnout the tabletop gaming had, you could have easily put it into one of the small panel rooms and alotted that room for some of the bigger panels. Now, maybe the tabletop gaming unpopularity was just a matter of location, location, location. I don't know. But there was definitely a problem there. On Thursday registration, was there anything done differently with that this year from last year that might have caused the change in turnout? I'm sure more people would have picked a badge up on Thursday had they known how it would be on Friday, so maybe next year people will simply have learned their lesson. Would it be feasible, assuming we -don't- do the age color coding (and I really have no position on whether you do either way), to arrange to send people their badges via mail, maybe for a small S&H fee? Another thought I had! You all should REALLY consider adding a Donation button to the main webpage! You know those Paypal Donation buttons that all those starving website owners use? They can actually be a substantial source of revenue, and might even end up being enough to swing that nice big room. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be happy to donate for a better con (don't look at me though, I'm broke). Berg...and here I thought I did a decent job, heh. Was it something I said? But seriously, that was my first time being the auctioneer, so I'll play the 'inexperience' card, heh. I would like to hear why I didn't do so hot, as others have said I wasn't the best or shouldn't do it next year (which I don't mind of course, just sucks to hear that). I probably should have thought of background music, as that would have killed a lot of silence that was in the room. By the way, any AV folks interested in helping next year, hint hint... Haha, well I wouldn't say you did a -bad- job, but I think you could do a lot better. Basically you just have to never stfu. Keep yammering and harping like you just can't believe that people aren't bidding higher. But there were times when you were more like... "Bueller?" "...Bueller?" To give you an example; "Look at this fine young man! This strapping young man could be yours, no he SHOULD be yours! Do I hear $10? Ok, thank you, $10. Where's $15? Who will give me $15? I know you're out there! Speak up! Let your voice be heard!" So forth until people aren't bidding, then you step it up to the haggling. "Come now folks, are you just going to give this man away to this young lady? Why $25 is a steal! It should be a crime to let him go for $25! You should be arrested for aiding and abetting if you let this fine lad go for a mere $25! My grandmother would pay twice as much in a heartbeat if her ticker weren't on the fritz! Why, I might just bid on him myself!" Basically, don't get to the, "Going once, going twice..." until you've given them all of your hype. And if you can swing one of those growling noises, that would be amazing. Personally I could never roll my R's. I guess a good catcalling whistle would work too Oh yeah, and if you find yourself not sure what to say, then interact with the person for auction. Tell them to show off, strike a pose, or ask them a question. But just give it some rehearsal and preparation. You can make it a lot of fun.

I will address the issue about the tabletop gaming. Mainly they were put there because of the requirements that Black Pigeon Press needed. They always bring their own crowd with them, and we couldn't even think about putting them into one of the smaller rooms. But yes they did seem isolated off in the side there, but to be honest with the rooms we had, that was the best place for them
Now onto a second item, there are quite a few suggestions for chilling area, There were plenty of space for "chillin" down by the tabletop gaming room. If you could get around the gun show people, or even wait till after the gun show was over with, there were plenty of comfy chairs positioned around down there to chill.

Pre-reg line or on-site reg? The pre-reg was pretty organized to me.

And now with the cuts to the public transportation, those who would think about cosplaying on a bus (ew, bus grems on a costume, ew) don't have that option avaliable to them. It's a nice idea, but I remembered when I went to Kunicon we all agreed to have some one drop us off than pay money to park. And dealing with the traffic there was just maddening.

Alright Well This Was My Third Year Going To This Con, And Here's My Feedback--
Panels-There rally did seem to be a lack of panels this year, which led to alot of down time.
Planning-I know with saturday being the main day of the con, its natural to have alot going on that day, but it seemed like friday and sunday were rather dull in comparison...in the future I'd try to have more going on Friday and Sunday as well, for those who cant make it on saturday, that way they dont feel like they're missing out.
Sleeping Samurai-Was AWSOME I really liked it, and it seemed like quite a few people were intrested. With the downtime due to lack of panels, this is where i spent most of my time.I loved it. I would very much like to have them back next year!!
Thats all I really have to say.

That's true, I remember something about parking being really expensive, maybe that is why we didn't park there but had someone drive us instead. I figured the same venue would be kept but I just wanted to throw it out there in case the convention expanded too much for the current hotel in the next year or whatever.

Only real complaints that I have is: - that not too many of the staff knew what was going on in which room, what times, who was running it, How most events were planned i.e. the raffle, etc. - I didn't know about the pre-regestration for the voice auditions and dangit I wanted to try out! oh well back to voicing on my own animations - there needed to be more food items japanese candy or something and no "black market Pocky" either Some of the good things I liked were: - The date auction (hilarious) - The game room (needed a few Wii games though) - The dealers room ( I gotta Pucca PIN!!!!) Something I would love to see next year would be a sumo ring I mean they had the duels sumos would be more Japanese XD (sumo suits people!)

1. Panels: There was not just a complete lack of panels all of them seemed to be at the same time. 2. Food: Though I liked the hotel and ect. the no outside food was very inconvient. The lack of pocky, and other japanese goodness in food form was completely displeasing to me and my friends. 3. The lack of organization: It felt like people didn't really have a place to go in between panels dealers room, ect. It'd be really nice to have a hangout area. 4. Map: Kindof hard to follow. Signs that say where things are would be really convient. It was overall pretty good and I'll definately be there next year. Thats just my opinion.

Fielding because I have nothing better to do.
People didn't submit panels, and given the size of the staff core, there was no way any of them could really run anything either. Hopefully, people will put their ideas up next year and it won't be a problem.
Any venue that has a built in restaurant is unlikely to allow outside food in the hotel/convention center. That said, pocky was cleared for sale, but no vendors brought it. Again, something that can easily be rectified next year.
There was a massive area in the hotel, as well as the part of the lounge area in the convention center on our side of the hall. I noticed people congregating in the panel room hallway Saturday night as well. Plenty of space to just hang out.
Signs are planned for next year. And at this point I'm suggesting someone draw up a proper map for next year too. XD

Only had a couple of minor issues with the con, but other than that, I was fine.
I was going to the Naruto panel, but the schedule said it was at 10pm while the booklet said it was at 9pm. I was able to figure it out thanks to Vern, but it was a tad bit frustrating when I didn't know.
I didn't really attend the date auction, but I did walk in when Dante and Nero were on-stage. Seemed to take quite some time for a bid to be settled. The guy taking all the bids seemed a little too desperate to get high bids for them and, in my opinion, I just don't think that was right. Not all of us have a whole lot of money to work with, especially with the economy in the state it's currently in, and it's not fair to pressure everyone into giving an extremely high bid.

Um, I'm pretty sure most of the things I'll say are repeating others but I'll give my complaints and suggestions (where I can think of them): Pre-reg: everyone knows and I didn't come on Thursday for my own problem of not sending in an e-mail with my online reg. Wasn't there a program a couple years back or last year where that was all delt with through the buying process instead of a e-mail after you buy?
Panels: I ran the Death Note panel and it wasn't that bad. I did have to hunt for a projector even when I put it on the panel paper that I needed one but everyone was nice in getting one to me and the tech support when my laptop didn't work with the projector was wonderful. After that, yeah the blank space and I forgot to get a gray bag so I really didn't have a schedule for anything and I'm sure I missed out on a lot of panels.
The Rave: Not my choice in music, random techno rave is fun...for a little while...but I like dancing to music that has words and even group dancing like the chacha slide. Also I went deaf for awhile, it's awesome but I did hear complaints about it (being deaf) from other friends. Also, wasn't it closed a half hour early? A new DJ or do something like the formal dance. That was fun and I'm amazed people quit out on it early, I was one of the few people left dancing and it was fun until the Yuna and I left.
The Masguerade (I fail at spelling it): I was in it and my group dropped our skit last minute and just did a walk on, I don't know the details on why we dropped but I think it was partly the way everything was being organized for the event(or at least my feelings on it, I don't want to talk for other people). Having more of a difference between walk-ons and skits would have been nice and also some practice for skits, we had no practice at all, we only got directions and then told to come to the Green Room later.
Sorry if I'm repeating or looking at things weird, everyone was nice in how they carried out there jobs and I had fun despite the problems, um a rating, I'd guess between a C+ and a B, not the best con I've been to but not the worst ever.
