I ditched 95% of my friends in high school when they became drugheads and that crap. It was either hang out with a crowd I didn't fit in with at all or go the solitary lone wolf route... guess which I did. My cousin lives in Collinsville and she's a druggie. Apparently a lot of kids are there. And I want to get into the Kansas City Art Institute for Creative Writing.. doubt I will but I can dream big, huh? ;=;

Sadly it is true, there's a ton of them around here. When I had long hair (down to my butt) I was often asked if I had weed to sell. It used to piss me off actually. More so assuming that because I had long hair I was a hippie or drug dealer or something.

It would make me angry too. I don't do drugs or drink. ._. So it's hard to be social sometimes..

Everyone always assumed I was a pothead or a heroin addict (I have a fairly pale complexion)... it annoyed me more than anything else among the insults charged at me.

I can't really say that being single is awesome, seeing as I have no frame of refrence. I've never gone out on a date before.

I havn't been on a date in a while. A girlfriend would be nice, but I would want to buy her nice thing and take her out to eat and go out and have fun. But I don't have a job right now so I have no money that's a problem.

I'm jobless right now but that's because I'm going to college this summer and I have a feeling balancing both of them would be difficult, which is why I'm living at home still... "facepalm"

The only thing I miss about dating is the affection.
I'm fine with the companionship with my friends and well. . .the more amorous stuff my friends can take care of too! XD
I like being single because I really like being independent. I would say what others have said- that I can check someone out without being glared at by my SO but I'm poly so that doesn't matter to me.
It's really hard to find someone who doesn't get jealous easily or tries to own you. :l That's my reasons for enjoying being single. I hate people trying to own me.

tatI understand your position fully. However, if you are like me, being alone for such a long time without friends etc. can really creep up on you. Man is a social animal after all. I've been solitary for so long... I cannot take it anymore. ;D

Well that IS perfectly understandable. However, I would concentrate on making friends first, girlfriends second. Especially since friends tend to stick, but SO's can vanish.
