My friends and I are planning to make a Convention food kit and we're throwing around ideas. I'm planning on bringing a collapsable cooler with me.
Some of the things we already thought up of..
Protein shakes: Or if you want to just mix a can of evaporated milk, some sugar, and whatever flavor you want. It'll keep you full like a meal.
Cheezits
Peanut butter (though limited. One of our crew is allergic to peanuts)
Cereal: I brought this last year and it was a hit. I'm bringing a GIANT bag of Generic Cocoa Puffs this year for Sunday fun.
Ramen: ..duh.. .
And of course... Pocky... Though I might be taking a trip to the Asian Market on Olive Blvd during Con for the Good stuff.
Any suggestions?

candy is always a plus, I think you can never have enough sugar at least in my opinion. Otherwise I would say Goldfish are always good and popcorn could be good unless it stinks up the whole room. Sidenote: Be careful with peanut butter, I think it should be gone by then but they are still saying stuff about the salmonella outbreak.

I'm just checking, because the hotel is being really strict about food concerns. I'll have to check with Nick about having any food in the actual con center, because they are like, seriously strict and they emphasized a lot about bringing food into the con center. They REALLY want you to buy food there. XD But I may be mistaken, so I'll come back to hits.

I somewhat agree with Link. Try your hardest to find a period that doesn't have anything you want to go eat at and try and sit down and have an actual meal. I know some people that have gotten VERY sick from living off of just sweets or just anything for three days. Most assume they can do it, but you also haev to remember you'll be very stressed and exhausted becuase there will be dances and events. Every year there are people who attempt to barely eat, or even eat just short amoun tof things over the three days and get really sick by the third or fourth day. Important Note From Con Chair Though he doesn't think that bringing your cooler and such into the hotels will be a probelm, he HIGHLY advises that you do not bring food nor (especially) any type of cooler into the actual con center. The con center is very picky about their food policy, and do not wish for you to bring your own food. There will be pocky and other japanese snack vendors there (MOST likely) which will sell snacks, but do not bring your own food to eat in the hallways nor bring coolers. They are VERY strict about their policy (the con center, not the actual convention). Feel free to eat in you rooms though, just please try to stay away from actually bringing coolers or anything into the actual con center.

^_^ thank you for backing me up on this and yes i too have seen people try not eating... and it was not good to see the after effects Yeah, no probelm. I mean, I'm all for snacking a bit around the con, but atleast I'd reccomend one actual meal for the whole day. You'd be surprised how much your body will totally get exhausted. I love food so I've never really had too much probelm running out of energy becuase I would eat constantly, but like, I've had three friends get like, REALLY sick by the third day running on nothing, even barely sleep.

Sidenote: Be careful with peanut butter, I think it should be gone by then but they are still saying stuff about the salmonella outbreak. My (Legal Aspects of Food) class has said that the peanut butter in snack foods- like Reses Peanut Butter Cups, Peanut Butter and Crackers, etc. are the only contaminated things not peanut butter by itself. STILL. I guess I'm just really careful but I wouldn't bring peanut butter at all. X Nnn I hope you plan to bring more than that or don't just live on those things. You'll be more energetic for the con if you eat healthy.
