Sorry if I offend someone in some off-beat manner, but I'm new to this con and... well, have a few questions.
1. Will there be figures there, or is it just Plushie-Fest 2010?
2. If there are figures there, what lines or types are available?
3. Are they over-priced to all Holy-Hell? I hear Animagination is going to be there and they sell figures there for normal/reasonable prices.
So yeah, my prime concern is obviously figures. I've heard from some Veteran ASTL conners tell me they have a poop-ton of figures and also plushies abound. They said there is a mountainous pile of them. Are these statements true?
Again, sorry if I sound like an idiot/newb or whatever the kids are calling it these days.

1. There be a bit of everything, depends on the dealers who sign up to attend.
2. I've seen every type sold so just have to keep a good eye out.
3. Some places are going to a little higher then others so be sure to look around to see if you can compare the prices at different stands and such before buying. I believe that every stand has a fair price for all of their merchandise otherwise.

Would arriving early help my chances of getting more? Is there a bum-rush for certain stands/merchants?

However after you get some squeezing room I do recommend that you go and look the day it opens instead of waiting at the last second.

I've found from other conventions (non-anime cons, sci-fi cons) that some of the dealers will drop prices on Sunday to minimize the amount of stuff they have to pack back up. Your mileage may vary. If you see something you like, though, I would agree - don't wait. Just in case.

As far as I have seen, from reading the current vendor list, you'll have ample access to several lines of figures. Being a figure collector myself, I have to inquire what, exactly, it is you're looking for. I can be more helpful to you this way.
The best day to get the best shot at what you are looking for is, obviously, Friday. Collectors will pick up the rares/goodies as soon as they can get their hands on them.
Best of luck, The Security Guy
