Hey kids. Want to have some fun while in your cosplay on a late night? Don't want to spend some time at a dance or a "not-a-rave?" Have we got a panel for you... Welcome to Cosplay Combat! First started at Naka-kon 2007, C.C. has been a fun panel that can easily make three (or more) hours just fly by! We have been featured at cons like Naka-kon, Otaku Omaha, and even Anime Nebraskon. Here's a basic description of what to expect. 1. This is basically a LARP where the hosts roll some dice (either physically or electronically via our computer program) to determine how an attack might (or might not) go. 2. Then the cosplayers get to act out the results of the battle. Simple, right? And we'll even give out PRIZES to lucky cosplayers during and after the event. We are currently awaiting to find out when our panel will take place during ASTL. But if you want more information (and to sign up a character), please go to our website. It's free! www.cosplaycombat.com

Well, since the con won't let us have three hours to make this panel happen, it is canceled.
But for future cons, let the people that run this con know if any of you are interested in this idea.
You can lock the thread if you wish.

Hmmm... not locked? Well then...
Let's see if we can try this again! This time, I'll put in a quick history about what Cosplay Combat is all about...
It all started back in 2006 when forum member Chris3Spice was thinking of a way to combine Dungeons and Dragons (and other similar dice and paper role playing games) with cosplaying. He developed Cosplay Combat and debuted it at Naka-kon 2007. It was a moderate success, but the amount of dice needed to roll each and every single action was ridiculous.
One year later, at Naka-kon 2008, he, I, and several of our friends decided to streamline the game so that rolls were easier, quicker, and gave better results. Also, we got a three hour time frame to conduct our event. (The first CC was only one hour in length.) The fans that attended loved it for the most part, and decided to tell their friends as well.
Ever since then, Cosplay Combat has not only been a popular event for those not wanting to dance the night away but for fans of cosplaying and staged fighting as well. We have also performed at Otaku Omaha in 2009, Nebraskon the past two years, and Naka-kon every year since the event's beginning. Hopefully, we can also do this event at other cons as well.
Come check us out. You'll like what you see.
