So how do u guys feel about cosplayers as non anime characters at anime conventions? What i mean by non anime characters is like superheroes, furries, or characters from American cartoons like Avatar, Ed, eddy,n eddy etc.
Do you think its cool and all in good fun as all cosplayers should have or does it ruin the atmosphere of the Anime convention? I personally would like to cosplay from some of my favorite cartoons but then there's always the backlash from Hardcore anime fans which I've noticed on several forums
So how do u guys feel on the matter?

Personally I like to see random cartoon or movie characters at cons... I don't know why anyone would say it's bad, because it's all cosplay and there is no rule saying that your cosplay has to be from an anime. ^_^ I say do whatever character you like; it's extremely likely that someone will recognize your character no matter what and show some love for it. XD

I as well "don't dream it , be it!" and I like to hang around people with that attitude

I love randomly seeing cosplays from shows I grew up with in the US that were easier to watch. I say go for it.

I love seeing non-anime cosplays. Cosplay isn't strictly anime, it's anything you want it to be. My favorite part of cosplay is the diversity it brings to conventions.

I quite honestly don't care seeing I've done a non-anime cosplay before and nobody seemed to care.

I was Abby from NCIS at Kawa Kon this year & I actually got the "Hall Cosplay Award"!!! I'm going as Abby for ASTL '11 but only on Saturday since that's usually the day most people go. I'll be there Friday in a gothic lolita dress.

That'd be kinda interesting to see someone as Abby.

I enjoy seeing non-anime characters too, that I grew up watching in the U.S. Its so neat to see the diversity of cosplay I see. I love it

Eh, I actually look forward to the variety of people cosplayed as at ASTL. There was even Waldo (as in Where's Waldo) last year. He gave you a piece of candy if you found him, it was rather hilarious. Besides, I'm going as an Original Character from my story, so it'd be hypocritical of me to say I don't like non-anime cosplayers.

My friends and I are doing Harry Potter and Doctor Who, so we can guarantee there will be some variety!
