Okay, so maybe April hasn't been gone for that long, but it's still time for everyone to begin (if they haven't already) planning their outfits for Anime St. Louis 2013, right?
If anyone is at all like me, he or she needs all this time to properly prepare (or in my case, begin outfits, get bored, set them aside, and pick up again in February with a screaming panic to finish everything in time.) Eight months seems like a very long time, but time has a tendency to fly.
I do intend to bring back my ROD ova outfit and FFX-2 Yuna. But, I am also creating two new cosplays (although I swore I wouldn't). One, I'm keeping quiet until Halloween (when I intend to reveal it online; also, it's not anime but animated) and one from D Grayman.
As far as what days I want to wear all of these, I've even thought about that. Of course, that's very likely to change at random.
Right now: Friday will be my "secret" costume (all day). Saturday morning will be the ROD ova outfit. Then, Saturday evening I plan to swap to the D Grayman cosplay. Sunday, I'll be Yuna.
So, has anyone else started their cosplays?

Ah, sorta. 'orz Right now funds are kinda tight for me, but slowly I've been gathering components together for Kurloz and Meulin cosplays. It's pretty slow going, though. Hoping to have them both mostly finished by Christmas, so I won't be scrambling through the spring to get them all together. Planning on going as Meulin the majority of the time, but I may bring back my Dark Brotherhood cosplay on Friday. Definitely Meulin or Kurloz on Saturday (may switch during the day, kinda depends on whether I can scope out a Kurloz compadre for my Meulin. uvu'' ), and then probably Meulin on Sunday. I'm super excited though. This year's going to be my last ASTL while living in Illinois, so I'm hoping it goes well, haha.

Right now, my for certain cosplays for this upcoming year will be Sherlock Holmes -- BBC Sherlock Matthew Swift -- Matthew Swift Sequence Weeping Angel -- Doctor Who
I'd really like to add either Fem!Shepard (Mass Effect), or Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney) to the line-up, but I'm now a broke college student, so that may or may not happen.
But, the current for certains may or may not get swapped out at some point. I've been wanting to cosplay Ginko (Mushi-shi), and I'm always willing to bring back Dragon!Mikage (07-Ghost) or Spitfire (MLP: FiM) if I need an easy day.
...so I guess I don't really have anything 100% solid, yet.

Oh, I do wish I had the focus to have my WIP cosplay finished sometime soon so I'm not scrambling to finish a cosplay the day before ASTL, again, this year. And, I need to take the time to read the Homestuck series. I looked it up after last ASTL because I didn't have time (flight of the bumble bee to finish my three cosplays) to see what it was (although curious since there had been a panel called that). After finding out more about it, I was sad that I didn't go to the panel. So, I guess you're moving somewhere else farther away? I hope it's a happy thing on your part (moving because of an unforseen, dreary reason would be difficult). And, I do hope that ASTL 2013 goes well for you!
Ohhh! I do hope to see you as a Weeping Angel because I recently became a Whovian, and they are such awesome baddies. And, one of my cosplays should be MLP:FiM, but I've been procrastinating sewing (I was on a roll then stopped because I didn't have enough fabric for a skirt). And rinia14, that's wonderful! I've always cosplayed (only because I've only known the cons for a few years, sad but true) but am always scrambling the day of to finish things ( in fact, my crew and myself were still wrapping up things in the hotel each day, haha). Good luck with yours, by the way! As for me, I'm already behind, again. I was going well then hit a snag when I hadn't bought enough fabric to make a skirt and just recently got a chance to get to the fabric store. Now, I'm out of the mood to sew. I'll just have to make myself. But, I first have to finish the Fourth's Doctor's scarf I'm making for my friend (his Christmas present since he remembers watching, reruns, of the Fourth as a kid). I also need to remake Yuna's Tiny Bee guns since my others looked terrible (and I had to do a pathetic paint job since I ran out of time). I'm going to try creating the gun from layered cardboard pieces then papermache over it. Then, sand it down so it's not rough, paint, and seal it.

If anybody had been keeping up with my thread a year ago, Cosplay Status: Mecha suit in progress, Ive picked it back up. So I think its safe to say youll know what Ill be going as all weekend. Gurren Lagann! With more money coming in from a part time job and plenty of time to work on it I should be able to get it finished before the con.

As it seems to be going right now, I'm going to be scrambling. unu' Didn't manage to scrape up the funds to get anything before Christmas, so I know I'm going to be rolling around trying to get stuff done between all my super-busy-ness this spring. Dangit, and I wanted to try to be ahead of the game this year. xD Homestuck's really good, but man you have to have time set aside to read it. xD It's really long. I'd recommend it to anyone who wanted to take the time to get into it - but you'd have to give yourself at least a week or two to read through the whole thing. And yes! I'm moving to Lexington Kentucky next summer for college. :3 Thankfully nothing bad, haha! Sadly, it's just far enough away that I don't know if I'll be making it back for ASTL 2014 or not. Also ended up changing around some cosplay ideas. Since I don't think I'll have enough time to get Kurloz done, I'm just going to go for Meulin. But now I also really want to cosplay Nana from Elfen Lied - so I think I'm going to work on her instead of Kurloz. It'll take a little less time, and is a significantly easier cosplay to get together. uvu'

OKAY. I'VE FINALLY GOT SOLID PLANS.
For certain, 100% will be done, I'm going to have: Femshep (N7 Armor)--Mass Effect Sherlock Holmes--Sherlock Matthew Swift--Matthew Swift Sequence
However, Swift is likely to change by the time the con rolls around. I'd like to replace him with my Weeping Angel costume, but when I test ran that at Halloween, the wings were a right pain and sort of...fell apart. So, the Weeping Angel really hinges on if I'm going to be able to get a new, working system for the wings or not.
If the Angel doesn't get fixed in time, and I just decide that I don't feel like being Swift, then I'll most likely bring back either Spitfire (MLP:FiM) or my old Articuno get-up that hasn't seen the light of day for a while.
Either way. Solid plans. Fantastic.

tuesdayDrama and Viperiform, I look forward to the MLP-themed plans you have for 2013.
Anywho, my plans for cosplay are to reuse my Ragna the Bloodedge and Bankai Ichigo costumes, 'since I won't have much of a con budget for this year.

I am determined to get at least one out of two cosplays complete by Anime St. Louis as well as lose twenty pounds to better look the parts. I am currently working on Elspeth Sun's Champion from Magic the Gathering. And am planning to also try to make Redeemed Riven from League of Legends. Lets just hope I can get one done and have enough money to go this year! Love this convention and can't believe I didn't go last year.
