I just saw the movie earlier today at 4:50. There was like 6 other people there. lol. Honestly, I thought it could have been ALOT worse then what was there. I thought it was nice that Bulma had guns, since she was kinda useless in the show. I had nothing against the Oozaru, it looked cool and wasn't a silly concept like the one from the manga. I'm sorry but the idea of a person growing like 10 stories is silly, even for manga.
The only gripe I do have is that Shen-long didn't speak. That would have been cool. And the DragonRader being called a "DBE" (DragonBall Energy locator) was stupid.

ok i do have one comment against that statement.
a person growing 10 stories tall is what gets you? really?
if i wanted manga to be normal,
women w/ 2 story breasts are silly, ninja's wearing orange are silly, inanimate objects having souls are silly, big monsters, large mechs, and oversized swords are silly
but all that stuff is abnormal enough to make simple size change as normal as a business man in a suite
so the person turning into a giant ape is really that silly to you? ((btw im a db, dbz, dbgt fan but im not going to be all "i hate u" 4 that im saying this all for argumentative purposes i dont hate u for saying that))
point is its not about being realistic most things are supposed to be silly but the transformation into Oozaru is cool but the bad thing about it was that they changed it you cant just change it like that
but what makes me upset is... akira was.. the co-producer of this movie.... its terrible...

First off, very funny. I guess I didn't think too much into what I was posting when I mentioned the 10 story Ape/monkey thing as being silly.
Secondly, with Akira Toriyama working on the movie. If he disagreed with it, I'm sure he would have said something and it would have been altered. Otherwise they wouldn't have put his name on it. Its like Alan Moore and the movies based on his work.

He was just being polite for the movie... and, well, he had money to make, so.

i know he agreed to it thats y its bad you cant just change a story like that thats y i hate twilight i mean i dnt expect everything effects wise to be accurate but c'mon cosplayers have done the characters much better i mean roshi and yamcha were accurate and i liked piccolo in it but changing storyline plots like "the kamehameha is air bending" thats rediculous goku in highschool thats not even basing it off of db thats just saying "lets see what happens if i do this and that" the old chinese version was "based off it" this was just completely different at a lot of points theres a big difference between "changing" and "basing off of" they cant just do one and use the other as an excuse to fans

I had actually forgotten about the "bending" that was mentioned in the movie.

Yea, and there was the scene after the main credits at the end before Ayumi's song. It showed Piccolo laying in a bed being treated by some woman, instead of him coughing up an egg.

ya the air bending was a rip off of Avatar While that being an obvious refrence. Hell, I thought of it as well. The term 'bending' could just be a universal way of saying that you are using it as you want to use it. Kinda like 'bending someone's will'.

I saw it at midnight on Thursday/Friday. I honestly thought that that it was pretty bad. At some parts I couldn't help but laugh at the bad acting, and everyone in the theater laughed at the climax of the movie where Goku's all like 'I'm going to jump through your super special beam'. There were only around 15 people in the theater and we basically joked around the entire time. I didn't even realize that the blonde guy was Yamcha until I read the reviews after I went the movie . I'm pretty sure that every outfit that Chi Chi wore showed off her cleavage, but she was rather attractive so I didn't mind .

Even though he himself said his name was Yamcha? Or that Goku said that he had seen Oozaru kill Yamcha, in a posible future? Also, is it just me or did it seem like the guy playing Yamcha played him with a slight Surfer accent?
