Oh knock off's are fine really, but you just have to be careful. Becuase a important thing with lolita clothing aswell is the material, though usually people forget to mention. Lolita should be a comfortable cotton~ A lot of the times on the ebay ones are rather Cosplay lolita or a mad material knock off of the lolita. Some are okay, but I'd stick to Bodyline.co.jp. They sell the best knock off's for the best prices. :3

If you don't mind buying second-hand clothing, you could join the EGL Comm Sales on LiveJournal. There are some pretty amazing things on there. community.livejournal.com/egl_comm_sales/Metamorphose has some pretty great sales, too. Definitely check them out.

Well, I have a question for the lolitas Does it matter if you have brand-name lolita (i.e. BTSSB, Angelic Pretty, etc.) or if you get knock-offs from places like ebay? Because I cannot afford brand-name lolita stuff and I find some really beautiful, moderately priced things on ebay. So basically I am asking, do lolitas get offended when someone is wearing knock-offs and calling it lolita? Just wondering ^^ I just noticed this, but I am a Lolita. Of course Lolita can be mean, we are just regular people. People can be mean. --- As for if Lolita get offended to wearing off-brand. Some do, but those types of people aren't worth your time. Brand can be expensive, but you can still get brand for cheap, as mentioned, Metamorphose can have EXCELLENT sales, I've picked up skirts and dresses for under $70. You can also check out the EGL_comm_sales, people get ride of items for $20-1000's but you can find awesome deals too! If you buy off-brand, stay clear of ebay, they usually fake the pictures, and not up to quality par. I own a Chinese shopping service for TaoBao, and some stores on there have some excellent Lolita seamstresses, I'll be making a post to the market place soon! If you ever have questions, feel free to send me a PM or email at: anne@mashimaro-girl.com [/center]

@ (LEƒÖE): First off, is your name a Moogle? Secondly, wouldn't it just be easier to avoid Name brand stuff because you can almost always find the exact same thing but cheeper? Cause, really, all you are paying for is the name of some clothing.

That's not true, most of the time you are paying for the quality. A brand wouldn't be a brand if it didn't have a good reputation for being high in satisfaction. In normal everyday clothes, I'd say yes, you can get away with that in some cases. For Lolita most of the time, no. Unless you get your clothes from an experienced seamstress, and it usually helps if they have good knowledge about the fashion. You can get away with an all off-brand outfit sometimes, but it takes an experienced Lolita to pull it off, and a lot of work. I know Mimi suggested Bodyline, but they have some cosplay Lolita mixed in with the normal lolita. You can find off-brand lolita, you just have to look and know what your looking for.
Take a look at this Lolita dress coat, the fabric is cotton, soft, heavy, perfect for winter weather. It decorated with real velvet, delicate laces and trimmings, and before shipping is only a whopping $78 US dollars. If you stuck an 'Angelic Pretty' or Baby, the stars shine bright' label in this dress coat, it would be well over $500 US dollars. You just need to out source a bit. This coat is from the Chinese lolita seamstress Surface Spell. Her work is godly, and not expensive at all. So just be aware, options cheaper and better than brand exist, just look for them!
