It seems to me recently a heavy interest in Lolita fashion has came up. I am a Lolita of 4+ years, and I hope to shed some light on the subject for everyone.
The most important thing to note, we are normal people, we have normal fandoms, we have the same tendencies as we do when we are out of lolita. I am assuming some of you saw the movie or read the book, Kamikaze Girls. Momoko acts like a spoiled princess brat, she always wants to be alone, in her dream world, sewing, reading and crafting. Twirling about happily, content in being your one and only friend...Heaven.
UM. NO. I can't say no one act's like that, I'm pretty sure the owner of Princess Portal does. [princessportal.com/]. But it gets old fast.
Don't try to be someone you are not. If you wan't to eat messy foods, climb trees, jump off rocks, or go to a rock concert, do it!
You only live once, and Lolita is just clothing.

What is Lolita? On a straight forward note, Lolita is a fashion from Japan that has been around since the 70's. Taking influences from modesty and Victorian ages. Though it became more popular when Visual Kei bands started to dress in the style, it was around even prior to them. To some people's dismay Mana is not the soul creator of Lolita. I can say he influenced some and even coined the phrases 'Elegant Gothic Lolita' and 'Elegant Gothic Aristocrat'. Lolita has several sub styles, such as Sweet, Gothic, and classic Lolita. Making a suitable style findable for almost all! Even men. In which Dandy and Aristocrat can stem.
