Well Maka Albarn from Soul Eater is gonna be my first cosplay I have a lot of time! XD I want to get it done before Halloween so I can be her for Halloween and Hopefully Anime STL2010  Well the thing is I'm new to cosplaying I have NO sewing skills and If at all possible I don't want to order online Luckily I don't need a wig Just a little trim (which i need anyway) and my hair straightened (which we have one) and it needs to be put in pig tails Well the outfit. Any Ideas for like...well making do with resouces. I have some idead planned. www.youtube.com/watch?v=74brRdtIjuQI thought that was an interesting way to do her shoes. But then again, you could just find some black boots and use white tape or belts. I'm happy someones gonna be Maka that way I won't feel lonely as Soul! : D

yeah and im being death and if possible excalibur but there was a maka this year she was a really good maka

I was maka last year ..there was one other maka that i saw but she ordered hers offline.. at first our entire group was gonna go as soul eater but then that plan kinda died.. we ended up having a maka, soul and black star the only advice i have is don't make the schythe blade out of styrofoam ..with the boots i just used my combat boots and put sticky foam on them for the white parts.. for the schythe i used a wooden stick, some styrofoam (which got melted by the spray paint) and random stuff i found around my dorm room.. although i'm gonna have to remake most of my maka cosplay for this year.. my boots and schythe got damaged but yeah.. if you have any other questions feel free to ask  |

Oh man, if you want to make the Scythe ask Link or Kadaj (Link has made swords, and Kadaj has made a Sitar and Faust's Scythe, Both are amazing Prop Artists) or you can order it from them. <3
As for the sewing, do you want help sewing or to order it, OR do you want to peice it together and alter?

I got my entire Chrona outfit from Goodwill for only $10. I only needed to alter the sleeves, socks & the collar. (The bottom of the dress too, but that's just because I'm so short. XD) So I'd suggest piecing it together and altering it since you're a newbie. (And I think it's the most fun too since I hate sewing. XD)
