Hey guys--thanks for all the input. alright, so i'm a little different than other DJs you may have met. i've been spinning for 4 years and i've been going to raves for 5 years, i know all of the people in st. louis that throw all the huge parties with 2,000 attendees. i use high end turntables paired with a laptop and a MIDI controller, meaning i can do a lot of fancy tricks and effects and remix songs live etc. i produce a lot of my own music and remixes, and i'll be making some exclusively for the rave at Anime STL this year. sorry i haven't noticed this thread. the forum seemed pretty dead when i posted the other one anyway and i've been pretty busy with other projects lately. NOW to start replying... i've got plenty of Daft Punk, so don't you worry at all i love them, they're great producers and make a great performance. i have a lot of very VERY good music i'll be playing, and stuff that involves the crowd. i will do my best to honor requests, WITHIN REASON. if i hear a song that wouldn't mix well with anything i might play, there is little i can do. if i like it, i can remix it--but if it's annoying to the point where it makes me want to claw my eyes out, you might be out of luck. i probably won't be playing any eurobeat (sorry!!) because it makes me want to claw my eyes out. there is some really good happy hardcore out there and i've been collecting a lot of the quality stuff to play. if you've ever heard of DJ Spree, he recently retired--he generally played incredibly annoying ultra-happy music. at least half of the tracks i heard him play, anyway. very nice guy also. new member here, but i have over 60,000 songs, ill be attending, though not in costume, but i have a few suggestions/requests you, sir, have great taste in music. a good number of these tracks i already have, and i'll definitely be looking up the rest of the ones you suggested. NO. i'm sorry, but this is the one song on the radio i can't listen to because it literally gives me a pounding migraine and makes me want to run children over with a lawnmower. i'll check out your other suggestions, though as far as during-the-rave-requests go, this is extremely difficult to honor. first of all, the songs on the disc MUST be high quality. this is non-negotiable. i'm talking like 192kbps or higher. if you don't know what 192kbps means, you can either look it up or admit defeat. the reason for this is because if you have a low quality mp3 file on a CD and i play it on big loud speakers, it WILL--this is 100% fact, WILL sound like total crap. it might sound "okay" to you, but seriously, i have standards, people! DJing with low quality files is like DJing with cassette tapes. it's that bad. it may sound "okay" to some people but generally it still doesn't sound *good.* the other problem is that i can't guarantee that the music will be DJ friendly and error-free. occasionally i download songs that have a weird skip in them, or a glitch. sometimes they even make it into my library and i don't hear them until i try to mix it and suddenly the beat is mismatched. sometimes it doesn't happen until the song is almost over. small errors won't cause me any trouble, but larger errors will cause larger problems. there is also the fact that some songs just sound like crap mixed with whatever i happen to be playing...for instance if i'm in the middle of playing ambient trance and someone hands me a disc with an anime theme on it that's rock...well, that's just not going to happen. i'm great at what i do, and one of the most important jobs of a DJ is to control the energy of the room and guide them smoothly through a journey of awesome music. if people are throwing random songs at me, i can't exactly guide anyone...i might as well just be a jukebox. WITH THAT SAID, i will go through all of the suggestions in this thread as well as the other one and do my best to honor every request. i promise that the rave will be TOTALLY AWESOME and you'll dance you ass off...unless you're a wallflower, in which case you will lean on the wall and bob your head to the music. but i'm a floor shaker, just so you guys know...so there will be some booties shakin' while the speakers are bumpin to my sounds.

this guy's website got hacked and turned into a malware site. i found his livejournal and he seems to be pretty MIA since his hard drive with all his music crashed. i can't find his music anywhere, even using my deep search techniques...it's a shame. however the other mix you suggested by REDALiCE i was easily able to find a high quality copy of *lmao* wtf another good songs would be like anything from this this rapper named Maja www.majatron.com you can go to his site and download his new album for free and its awesome hey, this guy is really cool! he reminds me of mike shinoda (rapper in Linkin Park, also did a GREAT project with styles of beyond called Fort Minor) I need something to shuffle to. nice suggestions! i'm not much into hardstyle, but my girlfriend is so i've been compiling a nice collection of awesome hardstyle to play. i would LOVE to see some shuffling! i can shuffle a little myself, too. how about like techno and not techno remixes of other songs thatd be great you mean like...electronic music? that's my specialty Now do any of you know actual japanese rave, cause i have two albums of it. M-neko album which is really good, and an anime remix album turning anime into techno and dance. Its ok. If you have a torrent or what ever i could send it out or give me your email and ill just zip it [edit3d] - i'm interested in hearing it. please please play simple and clean techno version...and some cascada..jus songs with words at leasst been looking for this for a while. there really is no good remix of the song out there, period. squaresoft will not release the vocal solo track of what's-her-name's vocals, therefore there will not be a good remix of this. THIS IS AS FAR AS I KNOW. HOWEVER i have the hikari remix i wrote myself as well as a remix of My Sanctuary from KH2. keep posting youtube videos! this allows me to quickly preview tracks before i hunt for good versions of them on DJ websites and stuff (i buy a lot of my music from online record stores). but also PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS! a lot of tracks that people put on youtube are MISLABELED! i'm all about giving the correct artists credit for their work. a lot of people that use youtube are just plain stupid sometimes and have terrible organization of files on their computer. please help the preservation of quality information, because people that mislabel music are RUINING THE INTERNET!
