During the con or even as a fundraiser for the con itself. Anne Rose gave me the idea. Why not on Saturday, or somthing, have some kind of anime garage sale? People can donate there unwanted anime items and all proceeds go to the convention?
But then I thought this might tick off some dealers so I don't know if it would work per se.

I'll bring it up at the next meeting and ask Nick if he thinks it would upset the dealers at all.
I was actually thinking a few weeks ago about how much I'd like to have an anime garage sale/exchange, inviting everyone to get together at a public location and sell off unwanted anime, manga, merchandise, etc. to each other.

My thought would be that it might be better to do so at a public location during this summer or fall because I could see it as that if the dealers are going to be upset, it would be because we're doing that _at the convention_ where their prospective customers would be. It will have to be discussed, and everything I just said is speculative. Thank you for your suggestion!

I agree I think it would be fun to do separate. I have a lot of anime/manga that i don't want anymore that'd I'd love to sell.

I kinda figured it would upset some dealers and I guess this kinds goes hand in hand with the anime exchange thread.

Wow, just saw this thread. We decided in a meeting the other day for NatsuCon to hold a garage sale some time this summer.
I guess great minds think alike, huh Pixie?
Now I get to try and gather a bunch of stuff to sell at the sale, yay!
Edit: all profit from sales at our summer garage sale go toward NatsuCon

There are other options, you just need more hands than most conventions have.
We have good fundraising ideas, but they won't work without at least 20 people helping out, so we can't do those fundraisers yet.

It's okay, every little bit helps. So even if it's just posting on our forums who you would like us to get as a dealer, or who you think should be a guest. It all helps us be a better convention for you the fans.

It's a good idea, but NOT for a con, all because of the dealer room.

As a fund raiser, I could totally see this working. I'll try to work something out and get back with you.
