I am thinking of getting the Sims 2 for my PS2 console. Has anyone played it before? If you have what do you think of it?

I haven't played it for the PS2, but the PC version rocks. 'Specially with expansion packs.
I'll see if I know anyone who's played the console version...

Well, I could get the PC version of it, lemme see if I can find the video that really made me want to play it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HEbDf_4P1cA bit of warning, it is kinda disturbing but funny nontheless.

I've only played the PC version. It's really fun and addicting, although I haven't played Sims 2 in awhile. After all, the Sims 3 is supposed to come out next year.

I used to play the original, but I love the Sims 2 a whole lot more than the original. I'm sure the Sims 3 will be even better, but I'm not sure. With all this talk about the SecuROM going on...

EA's "copy protection" software that can destroy your CD/DVD drive. If you're curious, read about it here at Simmers Against Securom. If you own Bon Voyage or a later expansion pack, you have it. Personally, I don't have issues stemming from it, but I'm lucky. The Sims 2 for the PS2 isn't as advanced as the PC game and doesn't include a lot of really fun stuff that's in the PC game, but it's fun to play nonetheless.

So it was in Bon Voyage, too? That would explain why we were having so much trouble with that computer. I'm glad I didn't re-install it when we got this computer...

I've never played the PS2 version, either. I've played the PC, Gamecube and DS versions though. PC is the best while the gamecube version sucks horibly, and DS was okay.
And wait wait, SecuROM? My old computer stopped letting me play PC games from disks after I had installed Sims 2 with other expansions...like Pets for instance...would that be why? If so there's no way I'm putting it on the new computer. >_<

According to what I've read and heard it "makes" your computer forget that it has a DVD/CD drive. That is why I am worried about the Deluxe for the PC. I've email the seller asking since he has another one he's installed.
