Just what it says. Tell some stories. Preferably those of a humourous nature. (don't wanna get TOO personal)
When I was a kid I used to go down the basement stairs in a laundry basket; it was quite fun until it happened, I flipped out of the rectangular sled at full speed and was thrown out (there wasn't a wall on the right) into the railing and then fell belly first onto the ironing board and killed it. I really wished that would have been recorded for my adult self to see....

Well I couldn't take them of (the were the cheep plastic one's) so I pee'd on a tree in front of the highway to see. Lol my dad was mad. *sigh* I have no clue why I had told this story.

This is just a story on why I became a musician. Very boring (I'll give ya a funny story later on) Growing up in a house where music is almost played everyday has an effect on you. My brother would blast a lot of Ska (Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Goldfinger, etc.) in his room. My father love jazz so he would play jazz on his stero system, my older sister is into RnB, hip-hop, and Gospel and my mother is into Gospel so they would play that in the house. Listening to such a diverse selection of musical genres being played around me drove me into being a huge fan of music. Anyway, during my second grade year, the school decided to take a field trip to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra to see a live symphony set that the SLSO had put on for all the St. Louis Public Schools around the district. This as the very first time I have seen music played live, in the past, I have only listen to it on the raido or on T.V. Watching the musicians play such beautiful music on their instruments install something to me to pick up the violin. I wanted to do the very same thing, play music for people and make them happy and inspire them. A year after watching the orchestra play, I enrolled into a visual and performing arts grade school. I didn't care what arts I had to take as long as I got into orchestra None of the instruments didn't matter to me. Bass players don't get the melodies in songs that after, cello, although the most beautiful stringed instrument in the orchestra, I didn't care for. Violas get mock a lot so I went to violin. 13 years of my life has been dedicated the violin. I can not imagine what could had been if I never thought about being a violinist. I guess I can give ya a few samples of me playing the violin www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-QhlxZFIXI(FMA: Brothers) www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_Fd_oIyMoQ(Final Fantasy 6: Celes Theme) www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT4CB6tNejk(Cowboy Bebop: The Real Folk Blues) www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCg3VMIb3hw(Elfen Lied - Lilium orchestra remix I did a while back ago) TL: DR - MY STORY IS NOT FUNNY AND IT'S BORING AND I SUCK AT THE VIOLIN ACTUALLY AND I'M A HORRIBLE MUSICIAN!!!

@snow
You're absolutely right about being around music having an effect on you. My stepdad's free time was spent playing guitar, bass or keyboard (multi-talented) and because of this I was naturally drawn to the guitar. String instruments in general turn my crank; violins, cellos, acoustic 12 strings, harps, etc.

I found hockey in my blood. When I was little, I played every other sport like soccer, softball, and basketball. Now that I am older. I play hockey. First time I skated was back in January after I had toe surgery. I was scared at first but since I started to get going on the ice I found it easy. Until a kid that was like half my age to cross check me into to the glass. Now since its summer time I go down to Collinsville park and play roller hockey. I am so much better than I was at the beginning of the year!

There's a window well in our basement. Typically houses have this so if there's a fire you can escape through the basement. But whoever designed our house didn't put a ladder in there making that hard. Back when I still took the bus home from school, I thought I didn't have my key (I later learned it was in my purse the whole time). This had happened before so I unlocked the window to the basement in case. But one of my parents locked it and I wasn't aware until I was in the window well. It was even snowing that day. I eventually climbed out but it took several tries. I remember thinking "This would be a good time to be Spider-man."
I have another story about that window well. In September of 2008, my cat of 13 years died. She was euthanized because she had cancer. We adopted another cat and the next day I find a kitten in that window well. There's some strays running around the neighborhood so I'm guessing it was one of their kittens. I gave it to the animal shelter as it was about 4 weeks old and I didn't know how to care for a kitten that young.

One time I was running in a St. Louis park in training for cross country. It was about 9:45 PM. As I turn around to head home for the last mile I see a group of boys about my age. They're dressed in tshirts and baseball caps. I hear chuckling. I keep running at a steady pace. One of them starts running next to me.
"Hey man, where you from?" he asks. I answer calmly trying not to show fear even though I was, in fact, quite scared. "What's your name?" he asks me. I give my first name calmly and ask for his, but before I finish asking him, he crashes a fist really hard into my jaw.
I simply sprinted away to get home safely. I don't know if they followed me because I didn't look back until I had sprinted a good half mile away.

When the casino queen was still an actual boat.... I was leaving and jumped down the stairs on a stupid impulse. This was a bad idea, my heel hit the top of the last stair and I fell on my foot with all my weight and had to be wheeled out in a wheelchair. It sucked and I bet the security guys were laughing their ass off. ;D

well, this is kinda funny. when I was younger I lived in Korea and always went to this one pool/spa thing on Sundays. So when my mom and sis and I were done swiming we went into the spa/locker room area to dry off. As soon as we opened the door, there were all these old naked asian ladies (they arent very shy about their bodies apparently). But I, freaking out, I turned to run and fell flat on my face. So I was on the floor getting laughed at by a bunch of old naked ladies -_- it was really emabarassing...
