I have seen many of you at cons with boffers, but how many of you would like to take it from you and your friends to a group that spreads across the nation?
Taken from 'Amtgard: The Rules of Play v7.6'
"Amtgard is a not-for-profit, free, non-sectarian group dedicated to the recreation of medieval and fantasy genres. Amtgard has a vast array of new experiences to offer the interested adventurer, from making clothing appropriate to a certain time period, to wielding a foam-padded replica of an ancient weapon on the field of battle."
For a better idea as to what Amtgard is, here is a video. Amtgard "Live the Adventure".
To get involved, find a group near you. Go here, Amtgard ORK Atlas. The kingdom in Missouri is The Kingdom of Tal Dagore. I also highly recommend reading and memorizing the Rules of Play.
I am a part of Cordis Medagar. It is made up of a great group of people. My first day at the park I was trained step-by-step on how to wield a sword. A week later I went to my first kingdom event.
Words cant describe what happend. From the time I got there on Friday until I left on Sunday I did not sleep. There was always something awesome going on. After going 1-on-1 with a veteran and dying, I was taken aside, shown what I did wrong, taught how to do it better, and many other things.
I would love to see many of you at the park and on the battle field. I would compare amtgard to cons except for two things; its free and you meet at the park weekly.
BTW, getting into Amtgard will also make you a force to be reckoned at Sleeping Samurai... just sayin.
