Personally I believe that it is NOT RIGHT to be gay, lesbian, transgendered, and bisexual. However, nobody should be cruel to these people or hate them because of that. They will get judged in the end anyways. God wants us to love everyone, just not accept their lifestyle =]
EDIT: This doesn't really have anything to do with the day of silence, but I wanted to share it. This guy in my bio class was saying that he didn't understand the whole gay thing. These were basically his words: "I don't get it. Gay people are like 'We don't want to be treated any different' and then you see them fighting for special rights and going around saying 'I'm gay!'. I mean, it's funny. You don't see me walking down the hall yelling 'I'm straight!'"
lol, I thought that was pretty funny XD
Please don't hate me anybody. I'm not trying to offend people, just state my opinions ^^

I understand its your opinion, since I'm all for stating your opinion and as long as you don't go around bashing gays, I do however, don't think the joke is very funny. =/

Alright, I now I am officially an hour and thirty some odd minutes late to get this on the actual day, but I do feel the need to throw in my own two cents. And no, I didn't read the whole thread, sorry. I fully support the cause, but not the means. It's been said before, and needs to be said again, the whole day of silence protest is a continuation of the problem it wants to prevent. I don't understand how being silent for a day is any different than being silent about the issue in general. And you need MASSIVE numbers for the protest to be effective. Or, to be more specific, massive numbers in one place. Twenty to one hundred kids per school is not going to even be noticed. On top of it, the protest can be frustrating to those not taking part and lead to them being deliberately hostile, trust me I've seen it. Maybe I'm just a traditionalist, but I like being actually vocal about issues, and finding ways to actually convey them to people. I don't care how clever this protest is, it isn't effective. That's my honest opinion from my observations. Cliff notes version for the tl;dr crowd:I like the cause, not the modus operandi

"I don't get it. Gay people are like 'We don't want to be treated any different' and then you see them fighting for special rights and going around saying 'I'm gay!'. I mean, it's funny. You don't see me walking down the hall yelling 'I'm straight!'" That's because lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people have been looked down upon and treated differently since the 1800's. People really don't see to attack someone that fits in with they're "norm". So saying to everyone that your straight will just set you in the group while saying "I'm gay" sets you into isolation for mockery and attacks.
