Alright look. I dont use foul language here much or hardly at all, its not proper voicing or polite for that matter...So pardon me for saying this. But seriously. WHAT THE freak...that is the most fucked up crap I have ever herd, seen, or ever in my life have ever had the pleasure to read about...and I've delt with some messed up crap. *sigh...better now*
In anycase, I am not a Twilight fan at all. I only saw the movie once and it was partical. Never bothered to read the books, nor do I want to. It is because of books and novels, and movies like that, that are runing society in America now. It is showing and providing a false image in girls/womens minds of what romance should be like and if they cant get it like that, then its not worth their ever loving time. It is because of that, that you find most men in todays world still single and not really caring...and women all ask why they dont seem to care. Well when you read those romance books about fantasy and everything but the real life, then what do you expect. Half of that is reason why men cheat. Its wrong and bad to say...but honestly...its partically the truth.
More or less this reminds me of just how bad fandoms can get...regardless if it is card games or video games...not to mention anime. Now I will admit that I am a full Narutard...as well as a Major Pain fan. Of course when challenged I will defend that honor...but not to the point of life or death. Once again this just goes to show you just how fucked up people in today's society really are...how unstable they are and how bad once fandom can get out of hand if not fixed and monotered. It also goes to show you just how scary fan girls can be.
Tsk and people wonder why most men at cons keep distance from the explosive ones and highly hardcore ones. Myself included.
Dont get me wrong I enjoy talking with you all and you all are my friends, its just that you can tell the bad ones from the good ones. Maturity and control are all apart of growing up and becoming an adult.

^ see this guy knows what hes talking about
romance novels do exactly what he said ruining the chance for perfectly nice guys because they cant be the guy who speaks french and buys flowers every day and cars and bla bla bla but it wasnt as bad until twilight came out not only does it enhance that image in fans minds but some take it as far as not wanting a guy unless they really are a vampire
not to mention that even if it were possible they think the vamp wouldnt just seduce them and kill them they look at all vamps in movies and anime and think they are romantic when they havent seen read or researched any type of anime vampire story or movie except for twilight
ive even had fangirls tell me that alucard is romantic cuz hes a vampire when they had never seen an anime in their life
and now theyve even made..... a-action figures *almost pukes*
and not to mention.... on this very holy anime forum... there is talk of.... t-t-t... hold on *sits down and relaxes* t-t-twilight... c-cosplay *goes into the bathroom and throws up*

Yeah. My mom does love Twilight, but she doesn't love it to the point where it's the only thing that matters to her. I myself don't really care for Twilight. Sure, I'll watch the movie if I've got nothing better to do, but I don't really consider myself a fan of it. I honestly can't stand all the fangirls from that series. Geez. Just look at the stickers on myspace. Almost every other one is Twilight related.
As for the romantic thing... I honestly can't stand people who try extra hard to be romantic. I would rather someone to just be themselves and not try to be something they're not. It makes me so angry all the time, and it's a big reason why I have refused to date for years (that and all my mom's men trouble has effected me).
Sure, I might be a Narutard and a Transformers addict, but I know there are things more important in life than anime/manga/tv shows/games/etc. That's something I wish my step-dad would see, but that's obviously never gonna happen. All he seems to care about is that World of Warcraft thing, and it makes me mad every single day.

This honestly does not suprise me that something like this has happened. This actually reminds of the article about Megan Meyers that commited suicide after that whole Myspace incident. This just proves how bad today's society is, and just how bad today's youth can be. No offense intended to anyone on the forum, but is it not true? Today's youth takes the stuff they see on tv, in the movies, read in books/manga way too seriously.
See I thought my obsession to Pro Wrestling was bad. I used to defend the whole "wrestling is fake/real" argument almost to the point of fighting, however I've gotten over myself, and will allow people to believe whatever they want to believe. I've been around people that get so focused on something, or even have a strong enough opinion that they will go to extremes to get that across to people who don't share the same focus or opinion. Now I know the anme fans in St Louis are a little nutty, I mean look at me, I'm a staff member, of course I'm nutty, but I don't believe any of us would ever go to this extreme and get that upset about someone else's opinion. If you are that kinda person, then you seriously need some psychictriac help.
Last thing, Just remember not to let whatever it is you love to rule your life. Take a break, go outside, enjoy nature, meet with your friends, go see a movie, whatever, just DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT let anything rule your life other than you.
Enough of an rant from me, I'm gone.

Thanks everybody. ^_^ Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is ridiculous.
Yeah, that Ed Cullen action figure? When I saw it all I could think about was how stupid it would look next to my FFX Auron and KH2 Sora figures! XD

I think we can all agree here that Twilight and everything that is fantasy and in movies, or rather the media today. People just dont know how to differ from reality and fiction. It isnt suprising one bit. Back when Pokemon was out there were reports of people stabbing and attacking others for cards...thats why I dont do the whole card game deal at all, rather thats why I dropped the hole thing all together. I still play Yu-Gi-Oh...but who doesnt...its a good way to pass the time...and its not life or death in this matter.
I think that society doesnt want to face the cold hard conditions of reality and want to keep themselfs deep in their own fantasy world. It is quite sad really. But once you get smacked with realitly...you realize that things are a lot harder and things are colder. But guess what...you grow up and get used to it. Its all apart of maturing...and if you can not do that...then you are not worth the effort.

Hahahahahahah, one of my Girlfriends started to call my Edward so I broke up with her...
They call me heart breaker...
I'd see where the defense would be coming from is these books were actually written well. I mean I'm not a fan of Harry Potter but respect J.K. as an author because she can actually write. This, it cant be considered literature.... lolvampires.
okay well, okay she broke up with me, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT.

Wow this is pure insanity! I question whether this happened or not simply because it hasn't been on the news anywhere and I think would think the press would eat this up but I can also see this not wanting to be leaked to too many individuals and thus being hidden. I happen to enjoy the Twilight books since my friends got me to read them recently. However, I would never any circumstance resort to violence over a book. I personally don't believe her writing is that fantastic especially compared to better vampire book authors like Anne Rice, but even if some people agree that these books are heaven sent or whatever the case may be this is ridiculous, no matter what you are a fan of resorting to violence just shows how sad humanity can be sometimes. This just makes me angry that people can be this stupid over something so small!

Well, this supposedly happened in England so if it were on the news, there's just a chance we don't know of it here in america..

I've read the books and really loved them... and I laugh at all the insults people have about them and why they think it's retarded, because in reality, even though the books were good, a sparkling vampire really is funny to think about xD I don't compare my bf to Edward, because Edward will never exist and no man will ever be perfect and not everyone is going to find that perfect someone for themselves. but really, I can't believe some people are this crazy about a book... that really is really scary to think about. All the Twilight fans that I know aren't this crazy. They will, for the most part, listen to and accept opinions about the book with maybe something as simple as a bop on the head. But that's it. Nothing more. I'm truly thankful for that. I wouldn't want myself or my friends being assaulted over their opinion for something that will never be real And I agree with the above posts, that books (and many other things like them) like these ruin today's relationships when taken seriously and when compared to reality. The majority of books are going to be better than reality and that's something people need to understand. There are so many things in today's society that make fiction seem like reality. I don't like watching TV that often for that very reason. I don't want to be someone that thinks that I've gotta wear less clothing and more make up to get a guy's attention, because I don't and I've never had to. If I could, I'd definately get in front of a group of hardcore Twilight fangirls and inform them that Edward isn't real. Neither is Jacob, or any of the characters. It's a book written for your entertainment. I'm sure Stephanie Meyer doesn't like the fact that there are people on the edge of killing over her books. I know I wouldn't like that. I heard a story of a kid that died pretending to be Gaara a while ago. It wasn't a murder caused by crazy fans, but it was something that happened due to the child's ignorance of the fact that Gaara isn't real and that he can't get away with being under sand without suffocating. Fan girls and fan boys can be scary. I feel like that's one of the reasons why my sister gets freaked out when she sees this huge group of cosplayers (last year she came with me and my dad to the reg table and she kept going on about how it was scary. it just made me laugh because I know that they're basically harmless with some exceptions).
