This looks like the closest appropriate forum to ask this in, so I'll ask here, if it isn't I'm sorry.
Me and my friend are from the Jefferson City metropolitan area. We aren't really familiar with St Louis, but we're pretty sure that we don't have good enough driving skills to get to St Louis ourselves. We are either going to get one of my relatives to take us, or we are going to take a train. But the problem is, the metropolitan train apparently would only drop us off 10 miles away from the St. Charles convention center. Just how much would it cost to go 10 miles there in a taxi? Also, are the St Louis train stations that safe? We are only going to try the second option if my relative is unable to take us.

I don't know about the trains and such, but I rode in a taxi recently. I know (the one I took at least) started at $2.50 and then was 20 cents for every 1/10 mile, so I'm guessing that would be approximately $22.50 for the 10 mile trip.

Thanks, I figured it would cost a lot more! As for the train station, I'm just concerned because of how dangerous St. Louis is.

I know about two train stations: the one in Kirkwood, and the one in downtown St. Louis.
Now, I hear a lot of bad things about the one in downtown St. Louis, so that's obviously not the best choice. As for the one in Kirkwood, that's about a half hour from St. Peters, which is not very far from the convention center. I haven't heard anything bad about that train station.
