XD; Thats like the uncomfirmed one, all they know by facts was that he would send her sexual messages, apparently she may of messaged back. They don't know since they only have her phone. They also RPed a lot, and he was a family friend.
Then one day she told her friensd she was going to a con with a family friend, and later that day she was gone, and so was he. There is even a picture of him in cosplay.

I really hope she is ok. Though if anything happens to her it is kinda her fault. I do not want to sound like a cruel person, but she brought it upon herself IF she was WILLINGLY going with him. |

Even IF she "WILLINGLY" went with him and literally said "Yes, I love you, I want to go with you. Please take me." She DID NOT bring it on herself.
She is 14 years old. He is 40.
Teenagers are easily manipulated. It is pretty easy to get them to do anything, especially if you know them and know their insecurities.
He is 40 years old. He knows what he's doing, probably has dealt with people enough to know how to at least minimally get people to do what he wants.
In addition to this, how do we know how the girl was raised and he mental state? If her parents never taught her to be aware of these kind of things, how should she know?
Plus, we do know this guy was a family friend and probably knew personal things about her that he could use to his advantage.

I'm not saying it is 100% her fault. I simply was stating my opinion from past expieriences.
I do admit however, I am assuming things aswell, so if she didn't go with him willingly I apologize, right now we don't know all the facts. I do still hope for her safety of course, cause it obviously IS a case of the guy taking advantage of her, right now though, we don't know if its simply a runaway case or a kidnapping. As time goes on, I hope they find her or they find out more. Most likely, if he IS taking her to a con, it'll be to Anime Expo? It is the most well known in California.

I don't think that she brought it on herself, since a 40 year old has no business talking to a 14 year old girl behind her mother's back. Secondly, things like that scare me a bit too. It's depressing that someone is using anime as an excuse to exploit a child. It's sickos like that that give honest anime fans a bad name.
