Thinking about running sushi panel since it's delicious and I haven't seen a panel about sushi done yet. I want to keep it simple style of sushi no raw meat just precooked meat w/veggies. Just to be safe and it would be a pain to lug around cooking equipment. So any1 want to assist me?

I am doing my own panel but if this idea goes throught, I'd love to attend.

Good to hear...
Oh I forgot if Astl 2k10 is in the same place I don't think I could do this since it has food involved or since it will be free it's ok?

The convention center doesn't tolerate ANY food. Free or not. :/ It sucks because I was going to bring cookies to the Yuri panel but couldn't because of that rule.
Maybe you could offer people to go out for sushi after the panel?

Well pocky was able to sell under the whole it's a gimmick food, maybe they can do the same with sushi.
I doubt folks would want to leave the con area to go eat sushi.

They couldn't sell pocky, though. Like, a lot of the vendors were really upset about that b/c they special-ordered boxes of pocky.
I don't know if they'll do it in the same place again. I know the Embassy got really mad at our group b/c apparently someone was trashing the hotel rooms. Don't know if it was con-goers or not, but yeah. I liked the Con. Center overall, though. It was nice and spacious.

The whole "They weren't allowed to sell Pocky" Is completely a fabrication. They WERE allowed to sell food products, the staff got them special permission but most of them didn't have it on them.

Back on the topic of a sushi panel, that could be possible. You'd have to work with the panel chairperson about what you plan to do and what you plan to bring, as well as signing a waiver in regards to using food. Pesky, but necessary red tape.

We're currently discussing staff and venue for next year. Once we have that figured out, we'll let you know.
