Helmet day 2. Got the face finished. The back of it is going to look like the ride side. Obviously I haven't started on the top yet. There is also a circle thing above the ears that I have yet to put on.

I have procrastinated WAY too much on this. Groups fell apart and I just didnt go to last years con. Unfortunately I threw away the head bust. So Im going to have to start all over again.
In the process of working on this thing the body cast just wasnt going to work. I think I have found a much easier, less time consuming way to make a mannequin of myself. Wrap up in plastic wrap and cover everything from ankles to neck with duct tape. Thatll be much easier I think. Then Ill stuff it to keep its shape and find some way to mount it so it stay standing upright.
As soon as I get my car back in working order Ill start buying the materials I need. I obviosly have until April to get this done. If the money and time works out I should be able to finally make this mecha suit. Pictures will start flying in once I start working on this.
Wish me luck!

Hour and a half incasing your head in plaster: $0 30 minutes sitting around doing nothing blind and covered in plaster: $0 Prying yourself out of the cast and a 5 minute shower: Priceless

Got the head remade. Since last time the nose didnt come out perfectly I just poured the fiberglass resin into it instead of trying to get it with the fiberglass cloth like the rest of the head. Time to start sculpting the helmet.

Decided to finish it tonight instead. Cover it in plaster, layer of burlap dipped in plaster, more plaster, and now sleep.

The mold came out beautifully! Just a few small pits to fill in and it will be ready for fiberglassing. I especially love this photo cause the face is an optical illusion. It looks like its coming out of the mold instead of being a negative image.
