it has been found that the species of otaku is prone to several diseases and condition, including but not limited to:
numb-butt:
resulting from extended periods of time sitting watching anime, or reading manga, favorite passtimes of the elusive otaku
anti-socialness: otaku are generally sociable only with others of the same species
starvation: otaku often hoard manga for the winter (or any other time they feel like it) and will not leave their cave, nest, seat or wherever they have chosen to live
dry eyes: it is common for otaku to go hours without blinking do to over-concentrating on their manga, anime, or current cosplay-in-progress

Newly discovered:
Phobioticphobia- irrational fear of bright lights unless it is dark and there is no other way to read their favorite manga.
HandCramp: Only found in a small sect of otaku that take it upon themselves to write manga featuring their favorite characters
Wrongitis: Thinking of your favorite male characters being put in compromising positions. (Usually found within the female fanbase along with HandCramp.)

Fantasiztitis: Similar to ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and often leading to Wrongitis, the patient tends to space out for long periods of time while suffering flashbacks of a manga they had recently read or an anime recently watched. C-PTSD (Cosplay Post Traumatic Stress Disorder): After a recent anime convention, sufferer insists on wearing their cosplay attire, reliving their time at said convention and fretting about when the next convention will be. Some even have break downs and sleep for the rest of their limited weekend.  Doctor Faust is on the case! |

that was my first con, i was so exited, i was holding this FMA bakpak with a plushie ed in it, i was squeezing the hell out of that thing trying not to scream

Bad back: Results in wearing the *wrong* cosplay and the resultand glomps
Rageeyes: The irrational hatred towards anyone who badmouths a fangirls favorite slashparing
Brokenbrainitis: Having the mental image after listening to said slashpairing from psychotic fangirls.

this just in, there has been a recent outbreak of hookedosis among otaku
hookedosis: when an otaku piks up a good manga, they read, and can't put it down out of pure enjoyment of the book, after several hours of this, they physically cannot put it down do to stiffening og the hands to conform to the shape of the book (i've had this happen before)

Can't forget about Emptywalletosis.
Emptywalletosis: The condition that occurs when near the dealership room of an animeconvention. The sufferer would bring in a large sum of money and then with in a short amount of time, say 20 min. Leaves broke **happend to me ^_^**

Anywho... Sweatolitis: A condition that occurs when one is in a very warm area, most common during the summer season. Other causes of this disease are walking around in fur suits or leather cloaks. (AKA, me when I was Larxene on the first night of Anime STL 09) Fancy feet: A condition that causes one to dance randomly. Often caused by such songs as 'Hare Hare Yukai' and 'Caramelldansen'. |

Drunken Feet: The condition when someone hears such songs as 'Hare Hare Yukai' and 'Caramelldansen' and attempts to dance to them even though that person has zero understanding of how the dance goes.
