im a newbie, can i get some tips?

hi hi hi, im lori, ill be going to the this years convetion. this will be my first time going to an anime convetion and i am so exited. so i was wondering, can anyone give me some tips, also, ill be going as death the kid from soul eater ;D

Yes! And dont be afraid to participate! Thats what makes the convention experience the best!!

Talk to people, attend panels, go to photoshoots, and participating in events will help give you a full round taste of what a con is like!

Safety tips:

*You should always carry an id with you if you have one.
*Dont go home or to a hotel room with any strangers.
*Know where emergency exits are
*Recognize staff members in case an emergency or you need help for anything

Be social! meet lost of people like said above, and dont be afraid to ask to glomp anyone, just be sure you asked they may not like glomps (believe it or not there are people who dont) or have something in their hands. Also take lots of pictures.

wow thank you all so much for your help! for a second there i was thinking no one would reply, and also, sence im kinda young, my dad wants to stay with me but he dosnet know if he can becuase of the bage age seperation thingy. if he cant stay with me, he wants to know if ill be safe on my own to wonder around.

Hey there ^_^ I can honestly say that my mom sounds like your dad lol XD But don't worry, you two can stay together.

But last year was my first con, so I have a few tips.
1.) Try to follow the 3-2-1 rule [sleep 3 hours, eat 2 meals, and shower 1 time per day] it will keep you alive during the weekend lol.
2.) Don't be shy to ask people for hugs or pictures, most of them will be happy to
3.)If you see something that looks fun, participate! You will regret it if you don't
4.) Make lots of friends! And get their e-mails so you guys can stay in touch
5.) Try not to buy anything from the dealer's room til sunday. Prices are usually much cheaper then.
6.) Just like any public place, there are some creepers. Since you're younger, I would suggest traveling with at least one or two other people. If not, just make sure you recognize the security/staff so you can alert anyone if you need to.
7.) Have a meet-up spot for if you get separated from your family/friends
8.) Don't do anything you wouldn't want to end up on the internet. There are people taking pictures all over lol.
9.) Have fun!

you would be AMAZED how many ppl skip showering the whole weekend

to answer the question

YES! as long as he knows where you will be all will be good

be sure not to go anywhere with people you do know (or just met) alone. if the place is in the convention where all can see then yes feel free. Going to others rooms is not a good idea. If you must go with them be sure to stay out of the room, just wait nearby. DO NOT leave a drink and come back to drink it, take your drink with you.

lol as for showers plz do make sure you get 2 out of the 3 days you are going to be there.

and this is going to be my best birthday ever! well, tis a few days before my birthday but its still gonna be awesome!!!!!!!!!

Think of nicknames that would be suitable for you. I used mine given from me at Stl 07. Or even what cosplay you plan on doing the most at the con.
