well this summer for me with try to get hired to Ameren UE, i cant really garentee that ill show up, but no matter wat day ill try my best to show up.

I'll only need to know about 2 weeks out. However, have we ever thought of doing a Sunday afternoon instead? I don't know how many people go to church, but it easier for me to get off on Sundays. I also vote June, June is the only month I don't have a convention planned until after November. o.O

I've thought about doing it on a Sunday, but it usually gets ruled out fairly quickly. Sundays are, in my opinion, at least, a good day for such an event. So we'll see this year, I guess. ^^

Personally, I just think if you guys want to sword fight then you can move to a more desolate area NEAR where the picnic is being had. I know there are areas right near there, but I think the area we usually are in is lovely for everyone to flock.

Findabarr: I could move the picnic to another area, but that wouldn't change the fact that I would prefer not to have sword fighting going on where we're all going to be. With as many people that the picnic attracts I'm worried that something might go wrong, be they foam or not. I'm not willing to let anything happen that would possibly get us removed from the park, or hounded by the rent-a-cops (like a few years back.) Or anything like that. I enjoy the picnic, and I try really hard to make sure everyone else can do the same.

If y'all want to sword fight that bad, I'll try to scope out an area that would work. It won't be around everyone else, but I'll try to keep it somewhat close. There was an area behind our old in-park location (down by the lake) that was set back from the bikers' trail. I know of that place, for sure.

I know I seem kinda b*tchy about this, but like I said, I have a lot of fun at the picnic, and I want to take every precaution to make sure it's something that others can continue for a long, long time. No, I'm not saying the sword fighting with fake weapons are HoMG-so-darn-dangerous-itshouldbeILLEGAL! No. It's a matter of the crowd. Last year we had over 30 attendees. I can only hope that this year there will be more, and lots of people + toy weapons being flung around = bad news.

Aye, we understand its not like we dont get that youre trying to keep us out of trouble so we can have fun and make sure that we can keep having fun. But on behalf of the good percent that really enjoys sword fighting out by the beautiful scenery in the nice weather, im trying to do that too thats why im asking about finding a place not near everything because i know that quite a bit of us would be sorely disappointed if we couldn't sword fight so we do understand thats why were asking if we can find a side place to go off on we understand and youre not being b*tchy at all.

Turns out we're not moving after all, so a move won't stop me from being able to go.

Work however, is another story. Hopefully I'll be able to get the day off whatever day we end up going with.
