I'm a transgender. Im a male in a females body, not only that, but a bisexual male in a females body, that leans to guys. It's rough, since my dad is a homophobe and such. He doesn't know, and I'd like to keep it that way. D:

Sounds like an unusual way to describe it. Honestly, I've never understood the "I'm one gender in the body of another". Not really sure how to continue without sounding offensive....I'll be shutting up now.

I'm thinking about either running a GLBT ASTL meetup sometime in the future or running a panel for GLBT in anime fandom next year. What do you guys think would be best? I dunno if this quote thing will work or not, but I agree about the panel idea. But I'd make sure it can be open to all ages. :\ I have many younger friends that are in the GLBT community and are upset when things like this pull aroundbut it has an age limit of like, 16+ only.

Well, I'm an FtM Transsexual and I'm gay. I'm so surprised and excited to see so many other trans people posting here. Also to see other trans people who are GLB. Here in western Kentucky I'm the only trans person anyone I know knows of. I'm extremely supportive of GLBT rights as an active member of the GLBT organization on my campus. Currently I'm in transition from girl to guy. I haven't had any surgeries yet (they're expensive!!) but I do live my life as a male and will, hopefully, be on T soon.
As for the meet up thing I think a panel would be a great idea. You could host it kinda like a forum meet & greet.

While I am a straight female, I show love and support those in the GLBT community, even though many Christians frowns upon it, I will always show love to everyone no matter what they are... SO FREE LOVE TO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD ^_^

So... I haven't read all the pages of this thread. I know, I know, bad newbie. But anyway. I had a couple comments.
I identify as a lesbian because I fell in love with a woman and am still with her and only her (had a commitment ceremony at St.L. Pridefest 2008, we've been together since highschool).... but I really don't know who I am attracted to, genderwise, because I'm just attracted to her. So yeah. Weird, I know.
Genetically, I was born female. My issue is not wanting to be male-- but I don't want to be female either. I don't want to be neutral, I just want a third option altogether, because nothing feels right to me. But meh. I'll deal with it. (Given the opportunity for any type of surgery, though, I would have a breast reduction, being that as a D-cup with a small frame, these things do more harm than good.)
I am one of those who is a yaoi fangirl who dresses (with my wife) as certain pairings, BUT we also dress as hetero-ships and yuri-pairs. My thing is, I love certain characters, I love trying to take on the roles of other genders, and I love love. I'm a general love-fangirl. As long as I am able to be with the woman I love, no matter who we may dress as, I'm happy.
Okay, I'm done with my mini-rant. ^_^

So it looks like it's too late to form an official panel for the GLBT meet, but we can always have a general meetup for all ages of some kind on one of the con days. I held a meetup of sorts for GLBT at Youmacon a couple years ago, which mainly involved hanging out on the hotel balcony with a sign for the meetup and people would randomly stop by and chat and share stories and it was overall a great experience. Met a lot of GLBT people and Allies alike. Is this something that people would be interested in? With all that goes on at cons, there really is no perfect time slot or perfect day for it, but if anyone wants to give suggestions on when they would like it to be or what day then great! ^_^ Or if anyone has suggestions other than the type of meet I described then that'd be awesome too! I'm not super creative but it's always nice to meet people who have that much more in common with each other. It'll be like a mini GLBT con within an anime con! I can totally do the sign thing and I think I'd even bring tiny little rainbow stickers of some kind to stick on the badges for those who come to the meet if they want one! Any thoughts or ideas? Love it or hate it? Only 20 days left!!! O.o

Hi there XD I haven't really stated my sexuality. Now really I'm a pansexual (anything in between is great with me) but I guess I will say I'm a bisexual. I have a open relationship with my boyfriend because our saying is "lets have fun while we're young" so he allowed me to date one of the prettiest girls I have ever met...Miku <3 (Hime-sama) I love her to death!!! Shes my princess <3

I know the area well so I'll think of somewhere to do that- if we can. This idea may work better than doing a meetup at a certain time? And the stickers are the nice idea. :3 I have some rainbow ribbon too. When I go to Walmart next time I'll keep an eye out for rainbow stickers. v.v; Sorry for. . .not being active on the thread? XD The con has been far from my mind- until last minute lol.

Sounds great! I have never been to this con so if you know a good place then that's awesome! I'd really like to see this happen; it was a great time just meeting and chatting with other GLBT people at my last con. ^_^ And I can totally be in charge of the stickers; was planning to look for some at my Hobby Lobby on my next stop in there anyhow. Do you think Saturday would be the best day for this then? I know it's when the most people are there, so the more the merrier! XD

:3 You can be in charge of the stickers. I'll need to look at the con area again so I can make sure of the perfect spot.
Do you want to exchange numbers too? If so PM me.

And how long do we wanna be at the meet spot? It looks like there is a fairly open block around 1pm on saturday. I know the peeps I am going with won't want to sit still for too long, but I can probably be at the spot for about an hour maybe. ^_^
