Alright, since I've never been to a con before and don't know much about them (and I don't want to be cluless at my 1st con), I was hoping I could get some tips from you experienced con-goers. Just info on things like panels, hotels, etiquette, the Dealer's room, and everything inbetween. Basic con tips. Please & thank you! ^_^

I was a con n00b last year, so here's what I learned from going to 2 cons:
1. Ask before taking pictures/ hugging. Supprise glomping can hurt. O_<
2. You'll run into some strange people (*cough*ManPeach*cough*) but they're nice people and fun to hang out with even if they are....>_> "different".
3. Whatever events/panels you want to go to, get there early! My friend 'Lisha and I didn't get to watch the maskerade last year because we didn't get to the main hall in time.
...Uh...I might have more later....>_>

What I've learn from going to 15 cons:
Eat something besides pocky. We really don't need anyone to pass out and have to go to the hospital.
Shower. I think this one speaks for it self.
Granola bars. Good snack food.
It you want to see the Masquerade, be sure to get in line early.
Dealers room. Make your way around, just browsing, not really looking unless you know what you want. Then go back and look at things that perked your interest.
LEAVE THE DRAMA FO YO MAMA! Honestly, we are ALL here to have a good time. You came here to fight or cause chaos? I will personally see to it that you are removed from the con premises.
If you or anyone have any questions about other con basics or anything like that, just PM me.
I've been a volunteer at Anime St. Louis since '07. ^_^

Drinking and Smoking alot makes anyone at a con seem super cool and dangerous. If you aren't old enough to drink and smoke than just pretend like you're drunk so people think you're a total BAMF! Please tell me you're being sarcastic. U__U;; That's terrible advice!

Treat the hotel and convention center staff well. As a member you represent the convention. I'm not saying you can't have fun, you most certainly can, but you shouldn't be antagonizing them or leaving them messes to clean up, etc. You'd think this goes without saying, but I know more than one convention that has had to find new venues because of poorly behaved congoers.

How 'bout the 4-2-1 rule?
Get at least 4 hours of sleep each day, eat at least 2 meals a day (pocky and ramune doesn't not count!), and shower at lest once a day.

1:DRINK WATER, soda and energy drinks are nice...but not smart when you can become dehydrated very easily. 2:I will repeat on the asking before glomping because I got hit at ASTL08(I cought an elbow in the face, causing a nose bleed) because someone didn't warn me of a glomp they were planning to give me(in a very crowded area). 3:Sleep....it keeps the halusinations at a minimum and stops the random passing out from happening in a place like the road. 4: boos and smokes, you dont really need them...but if you do...dont go near ducks like I did at ACEN one year. All im going to say is that I was on the phone and they were loud. 5:Hookups-at least remember to take a pic of him/her, it helps your friends believe you later when your lieing through your teeth.....*ahem* re telling the story. 6:Have a cell phone and make sure its charged. You will need contact ability when your trying to find your friend dressed as L or Naruto, Heaven forbid you would have trouble finding those outfits at a con.......but cell phones help you rally your troops for that car ride back to the hotel or home. 7:Con Spoiler- DONT BE A DOUSHE AN RUIN AN OTAKUS ANIME!!! If someone tells you to not ruin a series for them...dont please. Even though you may know everything about gundam wing, doesnt mean I want it ruined for me. Ive seen poeple beat for this.....multiple times.

If you're cosplaying, make sure to have a repair kit in your luggage. Threads and needles for clothing, bondo and small vials of paint for props, etc. You never know when you're going to catch on something and damage your stuff, so these can be a life saver.
